Colombia, in 1987. Daniel earned a full scholarship to study Fine Arts at Benedict College, in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. In 2008, Daniel graduated with honors and earned a merit scholarship to study a master's degree in drawing at the New York Academy of Art (NYAA). In 2011, Daniel graduated from NYAA's Cum Lade and was offered an art residency at St Barths and was awarded the NYAA's Best Paper Job prize. Daniel has exhibited in different galleries in the USA, St Barths and Colombia, including Richard Demato Gallery, Mediallia Gallery, and Eden Rock Gallery. Daniel works, exhibits and lives in Bogotá, Colombia...

My work is centered on a exploration of ideas of historiography, narrative, memory and the human figure. Most of my work is a search for metaphors that illustrate the complexities of remembering, an exercise not just of why and what but also of how. This exploration has taken me into creating images that look to replace the common metaphor of memory and history as a container with a metaphor of memory as something alive, which can live, age, die or be killed, or exist as an ecosystem...
